Which Greek islands are best for a first charter?

The Saronic Gulf is ideal for first-timers – short sailing distances, well-sheltered anchorages, and easy access from Athens airport. The Ionian is also excellent, with calmer conditions than the Cyclades and beautiful unspoilt islands.

What is the VAT rate for Greece yacht charters?

Greece has a reduced VAT rate of 6.5% for qualifying yachts, making it one of the most competitive destinations in the Med from a cost perspective. All the yachts we work with in Greece are checked for VAT eligibility before we present them.

What is the Meltemi and does it affect charters?

The Meltemi is a strong northerly wind that blows across the Aegean in July and August. It can make some Cyclades anchorages uncomfortable. We factor this into itinerary planning and can suggest routes and timing that work with rather than against the prevailing winds.
